Everything Wants To Grow!

Dear friends and fellow explorers of Life, I wish you a happy, healthy and abundant 2026.

I’m excited about this new year. It feels pristine, uncluttered, a blank canvas awaiting my outpouring. We make the world first with our thoughts, then project it outside us through our words and actions. In light of that, resolutions and goals feel too rigid, mental formations that become a barrier instead of a launch-pad. But aspirations and ideas? Yes, I have a few of those thought-seeds nestling quietly in the dark. It’s still Winter in the Northern Hemisphere, a time for rest, for visioning and dreaming my seeds into being, with the loving intention they will become a bouquet of flowers to offer the world.

The last few years have felt tiring and cluttered, full of ‘mitote’. It’s been hard to hear my own self, my deep essence of being. But I got there, eventually, with help from Dare To Blossom Life Coaching and a few marvelous friends. I can’t undo the previous years but I can choose what to shed, what to carry forward to become compost for my thought-seeds.

This process started somewhat unconsciously for me mid-December 2025. After completing an intense, six week mentored writing programme with Librotas, I took a break. I wanted to catch my breath, reflect and assimilate my learning. In this period of calm I was moved to revisit Time After Time, a book I had all but finished then abandoned. I disliked it, disliked the main character and thought it too derivative. I did a quick re-read and was pleased to find it has a great skeleton. What it lacks is a Spiritual centre, a beating Heart, a bright Soul. I’m addressing that right now.

The resurrection of Time After Time was unforeseen. I was going into 2026 with a new project – Deepdene – but in the compost of the last few years, I found an unexpected seedling. It was perhaps waiting for me to be ‘grown’ through coaching and the writing programme; perhaps it needed the lure of 2026’s blank canvas; a space to breathe, a space for me to hear its Heart and Soul. Time After Time will be completed and published after all. As I’m fond of saying about gardening, everything wants to grow. It seems that doesn’t just apply to plants!

Be blessed in all that you do.
